Privacy

The short version

Stir the Table does not ask you to create an account, submit an answer, or provide your name, email address or date of birth. Your conversations stay with the people around you.

What stays on your device

The game uses your browser's local storage to remember the last shuffled order of question IDs. This helps vary the deck between visits. An older version also saved whether you had read the rules; the current game no longer reads or updates that preference. It does not store your answers or scores, and these preferences are not sent to us.

Measurement

The site uses Google Analytics 4 to measure limited actions such as opening the play instructions, opening challenge help, starting play, question views, question-depth milestones, moving to the next question, surprise-detail reveals and sharing outcomes. Measurement uses a question ID, internal theme, deck name, game/deck version and sequence—not the question text and never your spoken answer. We do not record votes, challenge results, drinks, lives or whether anyone is being honest.

Google Analytics may process information such as your browser and device type, approximate location derived from your IP address and how you use the site. Advertising-personalisation signals are disabled in our setup. Google's own privacy terms also apply to its processing.

Hosting and technical logs

Like most websites, the hosting provider may process standard technical information—such as IP address, browser type, request time and security logs—to deliver and protect the site. We do not use those logs to build advertising profiles.

Sharing

Sharing happens only when you press Share. Your browser may open your device's share sheet or copy the current question and page link to your clipboard. Any app you then choose has its own privacy practices.

Cookies, advertising and payments

Google Analytics may use first-party analytics cookies to distinguish visits and understand repeat usage. You may block or delete these cookies using your browser settings without affecting the game. The site does not currently use advertising cookies, accept payments or display advertisements. Essential technical mechanisms used by the hosting provider may still be necessary to operate and secure the site.

Children

The questions include relationship and social dilemmas, and the game is not directed at children. Alcohol is never required. Any optional alcohol use is for adults of legal drinking age only. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this notice

This page will be revised if the site introduces materially different data collection, advertising, accounts or payment features. The updated date above will show when the notice last changed.
